It’s also the only 4K (3840 x 1920) webcam on our list, and it shows off its details nicely. Colors are handled well in both lighting conditions, and artifacts are at a minimum. It manages to keep the face evenly lit even in the darker environment, and that makes up for the fact that the background is hard to see (often a good thing). The GoHZQ W8A - which has 279 ratings on Amazon and an average of 4.5 stars - earns the first-place finish thanks to its ability to display a nicely balanced image despite some harsh lighting from the subject’s left side. The stereo noise-reduction microphones (which, as it turns out, are pretty much a standard feature on these webcams) worked well, and there’s even a privacy shutter thrown in. The Nexigo N660P is also the most expensive of the webcams at $65, and it justifies that price by offering autofocus that works well and 60 frames per second (fps) video support that made for smooth videoconferencing. It also did well in darker environment due to its effective built-in lighting autocorrelation that preserved colors and detail. As you can seen in the screenshots above, it’s starting to lean towards blowing out one side of the subject’s face, but it’s not as extreme as some of the lower quality webcams I tested. Taking a look at the image quality tests I did, this one was among the better. It is an Amazon’s Choice product with 773 ratings averaging 4.5 stars - likely one you might come across while browsing Amazon. Of the five I tried, the 1080p Nexigo N66oP was my pick for the third-best of the bunch. Keep this as low as possible just like you would for gain. The rare gamma option is available for adjustment and doesn’t quite function like gain - raising it gives a bit of a fake white, but it can still help out a bit in a pinch. The exposure settings are great, and so is the ability to change the white balance. As it states in the manual, you can access these settings in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software Studio). I am very pleased with the manual settings made available by the NexiGo. The lights I used for these shots are the Elgato Ring Light, LimoStudio LMS103, and 2 Elgato Key Light Air as back lights (my reviews). This webcam is useable for video conferencing like Zoom, but I wouldn’t try to start a YouTube or Twitch career with this as a main device. Even with backlights set up to even out the light, the NexiGo picks one spot on the wall and causes a bloom lighting effect where that one spot is like a sun, but everything radiating from that spot gets darker. The NexiGo N930AF just can’t quite get the background to one uniform color as it should be. One of this webcam’s most obvious weaknesses is proper exposure. The colors aren’t overly distracting at least. Browns are bit too yellow, and everything is just too dark overall. It’s not very sharp and there’s a large amount of grain in all but the brightest lighting conditions. The image quality overall is just passable. I’ll post in the captions whether I used automatic or manual settings. night time with room lighting - night time with studio lighting - day time with daylight only - day time with studio lighting I’ll be demonstrating stills from the following scenarios: listed as having autofocus but we’ll get to that… Image Quality 1080p, 30 FPS - USB 2.0 cable but functions with USB 3.0. This is impressive considering at the time of its launch, many of the other popular webcams have been being sold at inflated prices. I bought the NexiGo N930AF AutoFocus FHD Webcam (Amazon) for $55. Kinda cool, except if you put it on a little slanted, you have to rip the whole thing off and it won’t go back on so you have to use your second one. The privacy covers use super sticky tape that you put right onto the front of the device. The build is sturdy and the webcam can be tilted up and down and twisted left to right. For reference, the Logitech C920 only has a 60 inch cable. The wire is also non-detachable and is 76 inches in length which allows you to move your webcam farther away from your computer. The monitor clip with tripod thread at the bottom is non-detachable. a webcam - two privacy covers - instruction manual (here’s the PDF from Nexigo’s website) - thank you card □
